Turn your waste steam into fuel savings

The Heliex Power TST offers one of the most cost efficient and environmentally friendly options on the market

Introducing the Heliex Twin Screw Turbine

For vessel owners and operators searching for friendly energy saving devices - the Heliex Power TST offers one of the most cost efficient and environmentally friendly options on the market. With a Heliex TST, ship owners and operators can transform otherwise waste steam into clean electrical power.

Waste Steam = Wasted Power

Variable Steam Demand
The Heliex Power TST provides vessels with variable steam demands with the opportunity to convert steam oversupply into electricity during periods of low system demand.
Heliex Power
Reduced Consumption
Steam system consumer modifications / upgrades have led to many vessels producing more service steam than required from their EGB. The Heliex TST can transform that waste steam into electricity.
Heliex Power
CII Friendly Upgrade
The Heliex Power TST offers a cost efficient boost to a vessels EEXI and CII. Couple it with a new EGB, Auxiliaries WHR or economiser upgrade to achieve a significant ratings boost and up to 1% fuel saving.

Introducing the Heliex Twin Screw Turbine

The Heliex Power TST typically connects to the existing steam distribution system, and utilises the waste steam to generate up to 185kW from a standard 7-8 bar service steam system. For higher pressure steam systems onboard specialist vessels, the Heliex TST can generate as much at 400kW of power from waste steam.

Retrofittable in less than 5 days

The Heliex Power Twin Screw Turbine (TST) generator is available in two formats; as a skid-mounted, canopy enclosed unit; or as a modular package to suit machinery space arrangement. Installation is simple and can even be completed on-voyage in less than 5 days.MH Energies has extensive experience with a select number of recommended integrators.

Hidden Energy Opportunities

Watch our fascinating video discussing the hidden opportunities onboard vessels to generate up to 185kW of clean electrical power just from previously unknown waste steam capacities!

Heliex Power
Low Sulphur Fuels
Low sulphur fuels typically require significantly less heating vs conventional HFO, meaning the majority of vessels running these fuels have lower steam demand and hence, most likely, excess service steam available.

Auxiliary Engine WHR
Waste heat recovery from auxiliary engines is becoming more popular and is an attractive collaborative retrofit option for generating sufficient steam to drive a Heliex TST.
Heliex Power
Exhaust Gas Boiler Upgrades
In many cases, existing exhaust gas boilers could be re-tubed and/or upgraded to increase the steam capacity and provide sufficient steam to drive a Heliex TST.
Heliex Power
Steam Consumer Changes
Many vessels have modified their onboard steam consumers over the years - including evaporator to RO plant upgrades, switching purifiers to filters, and more. These upgrades often result in significant waste steam that could drive a Heliex TST.
Heliex Power
Steam Oversupply by Design
On many cruise, passenger and ferries, the vessel’s steam supply system is overly efficient in particular sailing conditions - producing an abundance of steam that is otherwise condensed to waste. A Heliex TST would provide an opportunity to transform that oversupply into effective, clean power.
